Understanding your
needs and vision

The first step in our design process is all about understanding you. We’ll begin by having an in-depth conversation to learn about your goals, vision, requirements and any challenges you usually face to face or even better, on site. Whether you’re designing a home, office, or public space, we listen closely to ensure we understand your needs, lifestyle and values. We often ask clients to think about budget, ‘must-haves’ and ‘nice to haves’ at this stage.

Concept development

After gathering information about the site and conducting necessary surveys, this is the stage at which we explore different design ideas and themes, taking inspiration from your input and combining it with the latest trends and timeless architectural principles. Our goal is to create a concept that is not only visually appealing but also sustainable, practical, and fit for purpose.

Collaboration and
refinement

The design process at DEWIS Architecture is a two-way dialogue. We present our initial concept and gather feedback from you. This is a crucial stage, as we fine-tune the design based on your feedback. Whether you’re looking to change materials, adjust layouts, or refine specific elements, we work together to ensure the design reflects your vision.

Presentation and
communication

Whether we’re managing the planning process for you or collaborating with external consultants, we ensure that the appropriate level of information is presented at relevant stages. Dealing with planning applications and building regulations can be complex, but we take the hassle out of it by managing the process on your behalf, all whilst ensuring that you’re kept informed and up to date of progress.

Budget and cost
management

We respect your budget and provide design solutions which work within set parameters. With up to date knowledge of local build costs, we can provide realistic cost guidance as part of our remit, helping you make informed decisions and avoid unexpected expenses.

Collaboration with
trusted professionals

When input from external consultants is required, from Quantity Surveyors, Structural Engineers to Contractors, we work with and manage the process of communicating and dealing with trusted specialists to bring your project to life with the introduction of necessary third parties at appropriate stages within the design process.
